Held at the International Centre of Exhibition (ICE) from 19 to 21 September, the expo saw the participation of around 120 exhibitors from across 12 nations.
The opening ceremony, attended by leaders of ministries and agencies, saw a full house. Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Cao Quoc Hung, averred that one of the main objectives of such events was to strengthen the relation between Vietnam and foreign countries in the textile and garment sector.
He further added that the apparel and textile sector this year will also be shifting its production from cut-make-trim (CMT) to free on board (FOB) and original design manufacturing (ODM) with the intent of adding more value to the supply chain.
There was a call to invest more on technology and also provide training in technology and marketing.
Chairman of VITAS, Vu Duc Giang, declared the event open.
Most of the exhibitors displayed their latest automatic cutters, spreaders, plotters and the best of technology. The IoT software displayed by Brother International Vietnam Co. Ltd., and also the “Couldt” technology showcased by Hikari generated curiosity among visitors.
“The bottom hemmer of Pegasus is already sold and the visitors are thronging our stall just to have a look at this machine,” said Ada Chan, Owner, Toboyo Sewing Machine Co., Ltd., which is an agent and authorised dealer of needles.
Hashima Vietnam Co., Ltd., Precious, NhabeTech, BOK, Nawon, Oshima International, Dotec Needle Co., Ltd., and Paran Smart Factory System were some of the other key participants, whose stalls witnessed good visitation.
There were also seminars to improve skills of workers and also on the quality of human resources in textiles and garments sector.
