Demco Vina, one of the leading producers of denim in Vietnam, intends to expand its capacity by 40 per cent over the next year.
While speaking to Team Apparel Resources, Franco De Faccio, Factory Managing Director, Demco Vina, averred that VF Corporation, one of their major customers, has doubled their sourcing from Demco Vina. Based on the above projections, Demco Vina plans to increase its capacity as well as strengthen its base of sub-contractors so as to handle more assignments from VF Corporation. VF Corporation is a global leader in branded lifestyle apparel, footwear, and accessories.
Currently, Demco Vina produces 110,000 to 120,000 units of jeans every month. Franco expressed delight at the growing business of his company and said that the company has prestigious clients across USA, Europe, and Australia.
He said that though he is confident that Vietnam will achieve the export target of US $ 50 billion by 2035, he feels that the country needs to work on proper utilisation of resources, people, and machines. “Unless Vietnam works on efficiency and productivity, it will be difficult to achieve the projected plan,” underlined Franco.
