The import of brassieres – shapewear and foundation garments – of USA has reached US $ 2.10 billion in Jan.-Sep. ’21, as per official OTEXA data.
USA has noted over 51 per cent Y-o-Y growth and has already surpassed the import value registered in 2020 in just nine months of 2021.
China, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Bangladesh were top 5 shippers of brassieres to the USA in the mentioned period, with China accounting for over 33 per cent of total import values of USA.
China’s dominance can be seen in its export values that stood at US $ 700.34 million, noting 51.85 per cent Y-o-Y growth in Jan.-Sep. ’21 period.
Vietnam clocked US $ 405.71 million in its brassieres exports to USA, noting 59.66 per cent Y-o-Y surge, while Sri Lanka’s shipment valued US $ 196.16 million, up 34.91 per cent on yearly note.
Indonesia seems to be picking pace and the country witnessed a whopping 84 per cent Y-o-Y growth to hit US $ 189.44 million in its brassieres shipment to the USA during the review period.
Bangladesh remained decent and shipped US $ 120 million worth of foundation garments to USA, registering 41 per cent annual growth.
On the other hand, Indonesia too did well in its brassieres shipment to USA by clocking US $ 19.10 million in August. ’21 and noting 120.95 per cent Y-o-Y growth.
