Nothing delights manufacturing business fraternity more than the news that says they have crossed pre-pandemic values in their export revenues.
The same goes well with brassieres exporters to USA as the country has imported US $ 2.82 billion worth of brassieres products that include categories such as shapewear and foundation garments, noting 46 per cent Y-o-Y surge.
It’s worth noting here that the values are more than what USA witnessed in 2019 – US $ 2.26 billion!
The top 5 brassieres exporters to USA – China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh – along with other countries such as Honduras, Colombia, and Cambodia have noted growth in their respective shipments in 2021 over 2020 as well as 2019.
China topped the tally as it accounted for over 33 per cent brassieres imports done by USA in 2021.
Despite trade conflicts with China, USA’s import of brassieres and related products from the Asian manufacturing powerhouse valued US $ 941.81 million, growing by around 48.50 per cent over 2020 and 11.20 per cent over 2019.
Second in the list was Vietnam that shipped US $ 547.86 million worth of brassieres to USA in 2021, increasing by around 52.42 per cent over 2020 and over 71 per cent as compared to 2019.
Sri Lanka’s shipment too remained positive in double-digit as it upped its exports of brassieres by 33.73 per cent to US $ 266.06 million in 2021. As compared to 2019, Sri Lankan brassieres export upped by 11 per cent in 2021.
Indonesia earned US $ 267 million export revenues in the category and witnessed a significant growth of 95.43 per cent – the best growth rate amongst top 5 shippers.
Bangladesh shipped US $ 167.86 million worth of brassieres to USA in 2021, registering 45 per cent growth over 2020, whereas, as compared to 2019, Bangladesh noted a whopping 88.84 per cent growth.
