Vietnam’s export turnover of garment and textile commodities has reached US $ 18.65 billion in H1 ’22, noting 21.60 per cent Y-o-Y surge, according to the General Statistics Office.
This is highest-ever H1 export value fetched by Vietnam in the textile and apparels.
Previous best figures were US $ 15.23 billion that Vietnam earned during H1 ’21.Of total exports, USA accounted for US $ 9 billion, which is around 50 per cent of the values.
A report by Viet Dragon Securities JSC (VDSC) said data from Vietnam’s general department of customs imply that the prospects of the country’s textile and garment industry will depend heavily on economic developments in the US market.
However, in the second half of 2022, VDSC forecasts that the demand for textiles and garments will tend to decrease due to high consumption in 2021, while inflation is cutting people’s spending on unnecessary products.
