DxSaigon, a design and development consultancy company based in HCM City (Vietnam), wants more people in the country to use their Athena jackets while riding bikes and scooters.
Speaking to Apparel Resources, Thomas Grové, Creative Director, DxSaigon Design Consulting Services Company Limited, averred that it always worried him to see women driving bikes and scooters with small babies and kids.
This thought persuaded him to go ahead and launch the protective jackets for bikers, particularly women.
The jackets made under their functional fashion brand ‘Sefu’, keep the riders safe, cool and trendy.
While doing the research to manufacture this jacket, Thomas and his team would study where would a person get more injuries after falling off a two wheeler. “The hotspots where the injuries occur the most had to be protected and we did that,” said Thomas.
The jacket is abrasion protective; the 1000D Cordura Nylon protects the hands, elbows and shoulders of the people who ride bikes and scooters.
The specially designed foam in the jacket elbow also drastically minimises the severity of impact injuries. Besides, the air mesh helps air move easily across arms and shoulders thereby keeping the biker cool while driving.
Thomas said that he is proud of the quality of his product and once people buy it, they may not need another one for at least 5 years.
