8 apparel and textile companies from Vietnam are in Moscow for the 3rd time!
The firms are there at the ongoing 53rd Federal Wholesale Fair of Goods and Equipment for Textile and Consumer Goods Industries (Textillegprom 2019).
The four-day event, which began yesterday (17 September), is being held at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre, Moscow.
The opening day attracted several Russian entrepreneurs to Vietnam’s booth, wherein the former offered cooperative business opportunities. It’s been a good beginning for Vietnamese apparel firms and they expect it to get better in next 3 days.
The firms are showcasing the best of their jackets, jeans and sleepwear at the event.
Delighted over the response, Truong Van Cam, Vice Chairman, Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), said “Apparel and textile companies from Vietnam have come here for the 3rd time and the exhibition has enabled the companies get access to potential customers and markets.”
Once the event ends on 20 September, the Vietnamese apparel companies will continue to look for partners in Moskva and St. Peterburg as well for few days.
It is important to note that Vietnam’s shipments to Russia have witnessed good growth ever since free trade between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (including Russia) came into effect in 2016.
Duong Hoang Minh, Trade Counsellor of Vietnam in Russia, said that Vietnam gained US $ 180 million from apparel and textile export to Russia, which accounts for only 3 per cent of latter’s import revenue. “It, therefore, becomes very important for Vietnam to study Russian market and look for more customers,” added Minh.
