A number of apparel firms, which are the members of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, or Vinatex, will soon be visiting Canada in their bid to explore business opportunities to export apparels and textiles to Canada.
The Garment 10 Corporation is one of those several member companies which will be a part of the visit.
More on the same, Than Duc Viet, General Director, The Garment 10 Corporation, said Canada remains a very important market for Vietnam with its import turnover of apparel and textile products touching US $ 13.3 billion every year.
He added that Vietnam’s apparel products perfectly complement Canada’s demand for apparel and textile products that are made of natural fabric.
While the import numbers have been good, the same cannot be said about Vietnam’s apparel and textile exports to Canada, which is as low as US $ 550 million every year. It is important to note that both Vietnam and Canada haven’t signed any bilateral free trade agreement.
“The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) holds lot of relevance in this context and will enable to create opportunities to exports garments and textiles to Canadian market in future. CPTPP will help Vietnam’s garment and textile market enjoy zero tariffs,” said the General Director, while substantiating Vinatex’s efforts to explore Canadian market.
