Denim production needs to go green! This was the key point of discussion at the recently concluded denim conference in Ho Chi Minh City.
The experts said at the conference that though denim production in Vietnam has been lately attracting more and more investors, green production is what denim needs today to safeguard the environment.
The conference was a part of the 2-day Denimsandjeans Vietnam event that concluded recently in the city.
While talking about the growing relevance of sustainability in denim, Nguyen Dinh Truong, Deputy Standing Chair of the Association, said that consumers today are very keen to go for green production and buy eco-friendly products.
He also urged the business firms to focus on having greener operations and also on saving raw materials.
Also, how much effort is the industry putting to create awareness!
Corroborating on the same, Jordi Juani, Asia Division Director, Jeanologia, called all the apparel and textile firms to create awareness about ‘green production’ and also follow latest retail trends and customers’ tastes, especially for green goods. He added that this was essential, as the rate at which denim production was growing in Asia could pose an impending threat to environment.
