Vietnam’s apparel and textiles export has witnessed a remarkable growth in the first eight months of 2018.
Substantiating further on the above, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) said that the country generated US $ 19.4 billion through its export of apparels and textiles in the said period.
This is a significant 14.9 per cent increase from what it was during the same period in 2017.
From January to August, the value of Vietnam’s apparels and textiles increased by 43.1 percent to China, 33.9 per cent to ASEAN and 21.9 percent to Japan.
Notably, the value of garments, which also includes jackets and t-shirts, surged by 17.7 per cent to South Korea and 10.4 per cent to USA.
Vietnam is expected to achieve its export target of US $ 35 billion for 2018.
It might be recalled that the country had initially set a target of US $ 34 billion for the current year; however the target was revised owing to significant increase in orders from foreign companies as well as signing of some recent free trade deals.
