Swimwear import of USA, as per OTEXA, has reached US $ 851.58 million during Jan.-Sep. ’21, noting 28.56 per cent Y-o-Y surge.
USA has already crossed the import values of 2020 in swimwear category (US $ 817.14 million) in just nine months of 2021, and with a quarter to go before the year ends, it is expected the segment will cross the imports done in pre-COVID time (2019) that valued US $ 1.07 billion.
China topped the tally and clocked US $ 252.05 million in its swimwear exports to USA during the first 9-month period of 2021 and grew by 20.26 per cent on Y-o-Y basis, while Vietnam gave a strong competition to China with US $ 242.08 million worth of swimwear shipment to USA, growing by 43.30 per cent on yearly basis.
Indonesia shipped swimwear worth US $ 89.59 million to USA in Jan.-Sep. ’21 and it grew by an impressive 30.27 per cent on yearly note.
Cambodia somehow managed to get back into positive territory after performing negative in the initial months of 2021 and grew by 16 per cent to export US $ 36.88 million worth of swimwear to USA in the review period.
Sri Lanka remained sluggish and declined by 6.06 per cent in its swimwear shipment to USA and clocked US $ 35.38 million. On the other hand, Bangladesh upped its swimwear shipment by 42.05 per cent to US $ 35.43 million to the US market during Jan.-Sep. ’21 period.
