TAP International Company Limited will be soon venturing into the production of garments. This was announced by Selvaraj Gopal, Director, Tap International Company Limited, in a candid discussion with Team Apparel Resources recently.
Founded in 1992 by Selvaraj, the company offers design and product development, sourcing, merchandising, quality assurance, logistics support, and centralised communication.
“After being in Vietnam for 6 years and having supplied fabric and yarn to big brands, we have a good understanding of the market and therefore there is no better time than now to enter into apparel production. There is lot of demand for garments now,” averred Selvaraj.
In this regard, the company has already invested about US $ 500,000 to set up a six-line factory for knitted garments in Vietnam. Initially, around 200 stitching machines will be installed; however, the number may increase gradually.
Some of the major products that TAP International intends to produce in their new factory are womenswear, men’s T-shirts, and polo shirts.
It is worth noting that TAP International has been working with some of the best mills across India, such as Precot Meridian and KG Denim, to provide different types of yarns as well as fabrics.
