In October ’21, USA has imported US $ 8.33 billion worth of apparels, noting 20.40 per cent increase from the same period of 2020 and 20.55 per cent increase from 2019.
The data was recently released by OTEXA and has further been analysed by Apparel Resources.
All major apparel shippers to USA such as China, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia Pakistan and Cambodia have witnessed double-digit growth in their apparel exports during October ’21, while Vietnam could grow meagerly in its shipment.
China clocked US $ 2.26 billion from its apparel exports to USA, noting 25 per cent Y-o-Y surge.
Vietnam has remained stagnant in its apparel exports all due to second wave of COVID-19 in the country that has restricted its manufacturing and logistics operation for the time being.
As an aftereffect, Vietnam could grow by only 2 per cent in October ’21 to ship US $ 1.32 billion worth of garments to USA.
Bangladesh has registered its highest export turnover in the US market this year and shipped US $ 694.13 million worth of garments to its top exporting destination, noting 29.50 per cent growth on Y-o-Y basis.
Indonesia has experienced an increase of 31.80 per cent to export US $ 479.57 million worth of apparels to USA in October ’21 and stayed ahead of India that clocked US $ 432.62 million from its respective garment shipment to USA, growing 36.80 per cent on Y-o-Y basis.
Cambodia’s shipment value – US $ 419 million – too hovered around India’s and the country upped by 46.60 per cent on yearly note in its apparel export values to USA during the 10th month of 2021.
On the other hand, Pakistan continued its sturdy performance with export value of US $ 204.11 million, noting 20.70 per cent Y-o-Y surge.
The growth of all key Asian countries reiterates the fact that the US buyers have gone for early imports in this festive season to counter logistics woes and supply chain issues.
