Apparel imports of Canada shrunk to US $ 832.02 million in November ’21 as compared to US $ 1.02 billion in October ’21, as per latest official data.
Though the imports declined on M-o-M basis, it grew by 11.10 per cent on Y-o-Y basis during November ’21 as per further analysis done by Apparel Resources.
Of all major shippers, China has shown negative export trend for the second consecutive month. China’s apparel shipment to Canada dropped by 6 per cent in October ’21 on yearly basis, while it declined by 2.60 per cent in November ’21.
Bangladesh continued performing well as it grew by 21.37 per cent in its apparel export to Canada that valued US $ 99.10 million in November ’21, while Cambodia too grew by 32.35 per cent on yearly basis and clocked US $ 93.03 million in its apparel shipment to Canada.
Vietnam yet again remained stagnant as its shipment upped marginally by 0.60 per cent (Y-o-Y) and reached US $ 91.57 million in November ’21.
The next in tally was Italy that jumped significantly by 61.56 per cent – the best growth rate in top 10 shippers’’ tally to Canada – and the export of the European country to Canada valued US $ 30.90 million.
Italy was followed by Indonesia and India that clocked US $ 26.74 million and US $ 24.73 million export revenues, respectively, in apparel segment to Canada, noting 34.47 per cent and 21.86 per cent yearly growth during Nov. ’21.
