In the first 6 months of 2022, China becomes the largest market supplying raw materials and accessories for Vietnam’s textile, leather and footwear industry that’s accounting for 53 per cent.
The imports of raw materials and accessories valued US $ 14.71 billion in H1 ’22, up 8.70 per cent over the same period last year.
Data from the General Department of Customs shows that the import turnover of raw materials and accessories has reached US $ 2.40 billion in June ’22, down by more than 16 per cent compared to the previous month.
China is the largest market supplying raw materials and accessories for the textile and garment industry to Vietnam with a turnover of nearly US $ 7.80 billion, up 11.70 per cent compared to the previous year.
Imports from Taiwan upped by 6 per cent, while the same from South Korea noted an increase of nearly 2 per cent.
In the past 6 months, fabrics of all kinds were the most imported items with nearly US $ 8 billion (up 9 per cent); raw materials for textiles, leather and footwear reached US $ 3.52 billion (up 5.5 per cent); cotton of all kinds reached US $ 1.83 billion (up 15.5 per cent) and textile fibres of all kinds reached US $ 1.41 billion (up 6.4 per cent).
