USA has witnessed record breaking imports of apparels in November ’21 as the import values stood at US $ 7.38 billion, as suggested by the latest OTEXA data. It’s worth noting here that this is the HIGHEST ever import values USA has registered in apparel category in the 11th month of a calendar year.
The values were up by 39.70 per cent on Y-o-Y basis In Nov. ’21, and by 33 per cent as compared with the corresponding month of 2019.
Seeing the massive imports happened in November, it’s safe to say now that all projections made recently about increased sourcing of fashion brands during holiday season have come true as data is evident. Particularly in last 5 years, the US imports of apparel always stayed between US $ 5.20 billion and US $ 5.97 billion.
All major apparel exporting countries seemed to have benefitted from the more imports done by US buyers.
China refuted its dwindling status, at least for time being, as its apparel shipment to USA valued US $ 1.90 billion in Nov. ’21, noting a whopping yearly increase of 49.20 per cent. Vietnam continued remaining stagnant with US $ 1.05 billion worth of apparel shipment, growing by just 4.50 per cent. On the other hand, Bangladesh didn’t let go the opportunity and clocked US $ 662.74 million in its apparel exports to USA during the 11th month of 2021, noting 78.30 per cent yearly jump.
India also didn’t miss the train, though it remained behind its close competitor Indonesia…
