Buoyed by the strong demand for apparels in the latter half of 2021, USA has continued importing more apparels than it imported in 2020 and 2019…
In October ’21, USA has imported US $ 8.33 billion worth of apparels, noting 20.40 per cent increase from the same period of 2020 and 20.55 per cent increase from 2019.
It was strongly projected that October to December quarter of 2021 will beat Q4 ’20 and Q4 ’19 because the rising demand and congestion on ports are putting a lot of pressure on supply chains, pushing retailers to go for early imports in this festive season.
Therefore, the latest data released by OTEXA puts stamp on the early import projections. It happened for the first time in last 3 years that USA’s apparel import value has crossed US $ 8 billion for three consecutive months – August, September and October.
The country imported US $ 8.07 billion worth of garments in August this year and US $ 8.15 billion in the subsequent month.
