Denim apparel imports of the USA continue to increase as, in January to May ’22 period, the country sourced US $ 1.61 billion worth of denim apparel products.
As per the statistics released by OTEXA, the imports got a significant boost of 40.78 per cent on Y-o-Y basis.
All major denim apparel shippers have seen an increase in their respective shipment to the US market including Pakistan, Mexico, Bangladesh, China, Vietnam and Egypt.
Bangladesh remained the top destination for US denim clothing buyers as imports from this Asian country reached US $ 336.61 million, noting 54.16 per cent yearly growth.
Mexico shipped US $ 293.66 million worth of denim garments to the US market, growing by 54.16 per cent on yearly basis.
Pakistan continued being a dominant force in denim apparel manufacturing and, as data suggested, it noted 67.29 per cent yearly growth in the US market during January to May 2022 period clocking US $ 195 million export revenues in the category.
Vietnam and China noted 40.27 per cent and 24.82 per cent yearly growth, respectively, to ship US $ 170.54 million and US $ 146.38 million denim apparels to the US market in the said period.
Egypt has witnessed massive increase of 128.36 per cent growth in its denim apparel shipment to the USA and fetched US $ 96.52 million export revenues in Jan.-May ’22.
