The USA has imported US $ 2.04 billion worth of underwear in Jan.-May ’22 period, according to the latest figures released by OTEXA.
The imports were 21.62 per cent higher than the corresponding period of 2021 when a total of US $ 1.68 billion worth of underwear were imported by the USA.
All top five exporting destinations have noted growth in their underwear shipment to USA during the mentioned period.
Vietnam stood tall surpassing China…The country shipped underwear to the USA worth US $ 434 million in Jan.-May ’22, noting 27.67 per cent Y-o-Y growth, whereas the underwear imports from China valued US $ 396.88 million, growing by 22.30 per cent.
Bangladesh and India shipped underwear worth US $ 218.46 million and US $ 178.78 million respectively, growing by 41.62 per cent and 16.35 per cent.
Sri Lanka faced heat in the first two months of 2022 when it declined by 4.71 per cent but it regained the momentum thereafter and now, cumulatively, the shipment of underwear valued US $ 135.17 million, noting 7.83 per cent yearly growth.
