Nine companies from Vietnam participated in the Fashion World Tokyo 2018 that concluded in Japan on October 24th.
The three-day event that began on 22 October is considered among the largest fashion events in the world. It witnessed participation of 1,000 companies from 39 nations across the globe, along with a good number of visitors.
Expressing delight over the participation of Vietnamese companies, Nguyen Trong Phi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Giovanni Group, said that Vietnam is capable of producing garments that can match those made by any reputed global brand.
Korea-based Sejong Collection, that manufactures and exports metal fittings for garments and shoes, while appreciating the Vietnamese products for their quality at the event, expressed its intentions of closely collaborating with Vietnamese brands.
The exporters mentioned at the event that though ‘Made in Vietnam’ apparel products are easily available in Japan, the same cannot be said about the Vietnamese fashion brands.
Phi, however, was optimistic and said that Giovanni has all the potential to capture the Japanese market, which can further pave the way for other Vietnamese fashion brands to enter Japan.
