This market is projected to grow by over 4.40 per cent from 2021 onwards as changing lifestyle of US women consumers is incurring increased spending in fitness and related accessories, which has positively impacted the market growth.
The import of shapewear of USA has supported the projection in its retail market as the import value reached US $ 233.41 million in August ’21, noting 25.23 per cent Y-o-Y surge.
It’s worth noting here that foundation garments’ category includes products such as control camisoles, corsets, body shapers, singlets, body briefs and brassieres.
China remained the top shipper with US $ 82.07 million (up 25.28 per cent) worth of brassieres/foundation garment shipment to USA, while Vietnam clocked US $ 44.58 million, noting 57 per cent Y-o-Y surge.
Sri Lanka’s growth (4.25 per cent) was marginal and it clocked US $ 23.07 million in its foundation garment’s exports to USA during August ’21.
Bangladesh registered whopping growth of 216.93 per cent in August ’21 Y-o-Y and shipped US $ 40.25 million worth of foundation garments to USA.
On the other hand, Indonesia too did well in its brassieres shipment to USA by clocking US $ 19.10 million in August. ’21 and noting 120.95 per cent Y-o-Y growth.
