USA imported US $ 8.14 billion worth of apparels in September ’21 – more than what it imported in the same month of 2020 and 2019.

Further to our earlier coverage – that was more focused on just import values of USA – the data shows the performance of USA’s trade partner countries in their respective shipments is mostly positive.
All major destinations such as China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Cambodia noted double-digit growth in their apparel exports to USA during September ’21, while Vietnam could grow meagerly in its shipment.
China clocked US $ 2.41 billion (its highest in over 18 months) from its apparel exports to USA, noting 32.40 per cent Y-o-Y surge.
Vietnam’s growth was just 1 per cent as it shipped US $ 1.25 billion worth of apparels to USA in Sept. ’21. On the other hand, Bangladesh – after being stagnant in August – picked pace and noted 43 per cent Y-o-Y growth to ship US $ 678.08 million worth of apparels in US market during Sept. ’21.
Cambodia remained ahead of India as it clocked US $ 397.71 million (up 37.50 per cent) through its garment shipment to USA, while latter could just ship US $ 368.73 million worth of apparels to USA during September ’21, registering 37 per cent Y-o-Y growth.
Pakistan’s sturdy performance continued (on Y-o-Y basis) as it earned US $ 194.74 million export revenues in US market, though the monthly decline was recorded by 2.50 per cent as compared to the values it clocked in August ’21.
