As per media reports, which cited official data released by the two countries, notwithstanding witnessing a negative growth during this seven-month period with 7.66 per cent and 7.30 per cent negative growth, respectively, Bangladesh earned US $ 1.94 billion more in apparel exports than Vietnam even as Bangladesh exported knit and woven products worth US $ 18.80 billion, during this period, as against Vietnam’s textiles and garments exports worth US $ 16.86 billion.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Director of BGMEA, Mohiuddin Rubel, maintained Bangladesh would soon regain its lost position of the second-biggest garment exporter.
…By the end of 2021 we can confidently say that Bangladesh will be the second largest garment exporting country, reportedly, claimed the BGMEA Director.
